Pandemic Ka Lang, Filipino Ako!

The annual school activity for the month of November is the UNO Presentation. The pupils from Kindergarten to Grade VI in public schools will have a one day school activity that celebrates friendship and peace of all people in the world from different countries. Each grade level has assigned country to present with matching traditional costume. It's the time of the year that parents with their students and teacher to research about the tradition, national flag, and customs of the specific country.

With his adviser, Mrs. Rosemarie Fuentes.

This time the Grade IV pupils of Marigondon Elementary School where my son belongs to was assigned to represent the country of Germany. The boy and girl pupils were dressed in German costumes. All the representatives had their "me time" on stage to show and project about what they're wearing to the audience and selected judges. Then after that, they had group dance entitled "Seniorita by Camila Cabello" presentation to perform. While dancing, the judges were busy computing their individual scores to choose the Top 10 of Best in National Costumes. Few minutes after the presentation, the judges announced the Top 10 and Meachel Terrin with sash number 12 was one of them. As his number was being called...I can't figure out his face reaction for sure liking it wasn't among of them. To let him joined the school activity was part of the training to build self confidence at his age. During the activity, some enjoyed while others were irritated especially to those who wore uncomfortable national costumes. The undying support of the parents and teachers to the said school activity can't be compared to other school activities each year. Everyone was enjoying the show.

Congratulations Meachel Terrin and to all participants of UNO 2019.

Rain and Japhet.

Science is Fun with Anemometer.

Anemometer by Meachel Terrin.

Science is Fun with Anemometer. This time, Meachel Terrin built the Anemometer (Grade 3 Science Project) under the advisory of Mrs. Nicoli Jean Tubis. He used the following materials down below with parents' guidance and tips. He used Sketchup as CAD software to design those 3D Model drawings of the Anemometer sub components.

Materials:

Antenna Element
Small Bearings
3D Printed Cups (3 pcs)
3D Printed Base
3D Printed Holder (for bearing and cup branches)

Steps:

1. Draw the cups, base, and holder using Sketchup desktop app. Make 3D Models out of those drawings as inputs to the 3D Printer.
2. Cut Antenna Elements to desired length.
3. Assemble the parts and put the bearins inside the holder. Then put screw to tighten the cup branches to the holder.
4. Have fun testing the anemometer with the Electric Fan.

How to hit Bullseye in Archery for the first timer?

Did you know that Archery is one of the competitive sports in Olympic Games? Whether you knew it or not, Archery is an interesting sport for everyone to try. Last week, my son Meachel Terrin tried it at Wild Bow Archery. This is a very good alternative to classic fun activities on summer. Starting from P150 pesos, you can enjoy hitting the target face with 15 arrows. You don't need to worry whether you hit the target or not because there's an in house trainor that will guide you how to use the Archery Bow gear. So, this was his first Archery experience. He's motivated to do more because he hit the bullseye once and for all. 💘 Nice try Rain. 👌

How to hit Bullseye in Archery for the first timer?
  • Know your gear size, the trainor will give you the correct gear size for you.
  • Tell the trainor whether you're a left-handed or right-handed person. The appropriate archery gear will be given to you.
  • Body positioning toward the paper target face.
  • Load an arrow
  • Draw string hand towards face and rest
  • Hold out bow arm to form 'T'
  • Release arrow towards the target

Grade 2 of Marigondon Elementary celebrated National Arts Month.

The master teacher Mrs. Sanchez of Marigondon Elementary opened the culmination of National Arts Month with brief info about this annual celebration. Accordingly, in 1991 the National Arts Month started with the signing of Presidential Proclamation 683, declaring February as National Arts Month. Over the years, private and government schools organize events and activities to showcase the artistic brilliance of the Filipinos. But due to huge population of Marigondon Elementary School, it was celebrated by year levels from Kindergarten to Grade 6 that's why the event lasted this 1st week of March. Since I have four kids schooling at that great school, I have to attend the culmination supposedly four times but I only witnessed one event from start to finish on Grade 2 level where my son Meachel Terrin is currently enrolled.

Beauty and Pretty Boy (Kimya, Meachel Terrin)

I was so delighted watching the kids ages 7-8 handles the entire Program spontaneously with dynamic emcee Nathali Alicaya from the start of singing the National Anthem conducted by Hannah Mahilum, Prayer Doxology by selected Grade 2 pupils, Dance Sport Intermission Number, Ukelele Presentation, and Dance and Sing Group Presentations (Group 1, Group 2, Group 3, Group 4, & Group 5). The participants of the events were the entire class of Fast Learners Classes under Mrs. Shela Duavis and Mrs. Reina Gonzales and selected pupils of the regular classes. The program started around 2 o'clock in the afternoon and ended around 5 pm. One thing I noticed, the event was so lively due to great audience around from teachers, parents, relatives, and friends of the participants. Have fun watching!

Drumming, 1st Time!

At 2nd Grade,  he found drumming to consume his extra energy instead of roaming around after class. Practice twice a week is not bad after all to change the after class routine.  I able to record one practice video, just check down below for more.
To end August,  the Marigondon Elementary School Drum Lyre Corps performed the Opening Salvo March for the Intramurals 2017. After few practices, he's officially member of the group. His 1st drumming performance, good job Rain! 😉
