Grade 2 of Marigondon Elementary celebrated National Arts Month.

The master teacher Mrs. Sanchez of Marigondon Elementary opened the culmination of National Arts Month with brief info about this annual celebration. Accordingly, in 1991 the National Arts Month started with the signing of Presidential Proclamation 683, declaring February as National Arts Month. Over the years, private and government schools organize events and activities to showcase the artistic brilliance of the Filipinos. But due to huge population of Marigondon Elementary School, it was celebrated by year levels from Kindergarten to Grade 6 that's why the event lasted this 1st week of March. Since I have four kids schooling at that great school, I have to attend the culmination supposedly four times but I only witnessed one event from start to finish on Grade 2 level where my son Meachel Terrin is currently enrolled.

I was so delighted watching the kids ages 7-8 handles the entire Program spontaneously with dynamic emcee Nathali Alicaya from the start of singing the National Anthem conducted by Hannah Mahilum, Prayer Doxology by selected Grade 2 pupils, Dance Sport Intermission Number, Ukelele Presentation, and Dance and Sing Group Presentations (Group 1, Group 2, Group 3, Group 4, & Group 5). The participants of the events were the entire class of Fast Learners Classes under Mrs. Shela Duavis and Mrs. Reina Gonzales and selected pupils of the regular classes. The program started around 2 o'clock in the afternoon and ended around 5 pm. One thing I noticed, the event was so lively due to great audience around from teachers, parents, relatives, and friends of the participants. Have fun watching!
